Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and goal-driven Inside Sales Representative at our corporate headquarters in Flowood.  We offer competitive compensation (base hourly rate + commission opportunity), great benefits, specialized technical training.  The position reports to our corporate Marketing Manager.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible to re-establish, qualify, and maintain contact with the company’s small- to medium-sized customers and prospects in order to generate increased sales of heavy equipment parts and service solutions. Position is responsible to research, contact, qualify, and refer sales lead opportunities to the outside sales team and document/maintain prospect activities in the company’s CRM system. This is an entry level professional sales and marketing development position.


Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:

•Cultivate and maintain a favorable relationship with existing and prospective customers through regular outbound telephone communication (making a minimum 80 calls/week) and email campaigns to continue customer’s education on the benefits of the company’s product offering and to sell parts, service, labor, and preventive maintenance (CSA) solutions. Therein, perform needs analysis and make product recommendations.

•Research, identify/develop target prospect customers, and initiate contact with influencers and decision makers of the acquisition of heavy equipment and related parts and service solutions. Utilizing the targeted list of organizations, initiate tele-prospecting activities, gather sales intelligence, qualify the prospect, handle the objections, and aggressively generate qualified sales leads for the outside sales team. Provide sales collateral (white papers, marketing tools, case studies, etc.). Re-qualify leads from trade shows, events, mailers, other marketing activities.

•Document customer/prospect information and activities in the company’s CRM database (salesforce.com) and utilize related system applications (DBS) to execute marketing and transactional sales activities. Perform updates and/or edits that thoroughly capture all relevant information.

•Regularly attend internal business development/sales meetings to provide updates on lead generation progress, obtain answers to clarifying questions, and share obstacles, roadblocks and successes.

•Coordinate the development and deployment of marketing campaigns and list generation activities for target companies.

Job Requirements

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

•High school diploma plus 4-6 years dedicated experience in business-to-business telemarketing, inside sales, or customer service required. Bachelor’s level degree in business, marketing, engineering, finance plus 1-3 years dedicated inside sales and marketing experience preferred.
•Basic understanding of heavy equipment industry and related parts and service processes and terminology. Dedicated experience in parts and service in a heavy equipment or allied equipment environment very helpful.
•Professional upbeat telephone and email style that is assertive and persistent without being aggressive; proven track record in cold calling, sales prospecting and appointment setting;
•Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills, attention to detail;
•Ability to build strong networks in- and outside the organization and handle rejection with poise; ability to effectively engage management decision makers and influencers at all levels;
•Self-motivated, goal oriented, and dependable;
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
•Proficiency with CRM applications (salesforce.com) and related dealer management system applications (DBS)
