Job Requirements of Inside Sales Rep (ISR)-Electric Power:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma plus 4-6 years of work experience in technical sales support and/or project management, preferably in the sale of commercial industrial services and/or equipment in a bid spec market environment.
Associate or higher-level degree in an industrial, mechanical or electrical engineering discipline preferred. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Proficiency with CRM applications (salesforce.com) and related dealer management system applications (DBS).
- Professional upbeat telephone and email style that is assertive and persistent without being aggressive; proven track record in cold calling, sales prospecting and appointment setting;
- Excellent customer relations, written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and effectively delegate in a fast-paced, detail and deadline-oriented environment.

Inside Sales Rep (ISR)-Electric Power
Puckett Machinery Company is the Caterpillar® heavy equipment, rental services, and power systems dealer for central and southern Mississippi. As the industry leader in our territory with 15 locations, helping our customers succeed is our number one priority.
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Electric Power Insides Sales Representative based at our power systems headquarters in Gulfport. We offer competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a legendary family culture.
The Electric Power Inside Sales Representative is responsible for fostering and supporting engagement with the company’s electric power customers and prospects to generate increased sales of Caterpillar diesel generator sets 850kw and below. Position assesses project requirements and crafts comprehensive proposals detailing the costs, timeline, and technical specifications. Role requires close collaboration with the outside sales team to ensure proposals meet both the financial and technical needs of our end customers, engineers, and contractors. This is a mid-level technical sales position that reports to the General Manager, Power Systems.
Required Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Reach out to and foster relationships with new end-users and contractors. Cold call/email and partner with the corporate marketing team on campaigns to further the objective of interacting with new customers and new markets.
- Lead the creation of proposals for power systems projects, including budgetary proposals, project timelines, and technical specifications, tailored to the unique needs of each customer and project.
- Work closely with outside salesman and project manager, and external vendor-partners to gather all necessary information to prepare accurate and comprehensive proposals. Compile and submit all technical data, vendor coordination, site delivery, commissioning and post-sale credits.
- Assist the sales team by participating in client meetings to present and explain proposals and address any technical or financial queries to support the decision-making process.
- Ensure high levels of accuracy in cost estimates, aiming to closely align with actual project expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Create proposal documents that are clear, professional, and aligned with industry standards, ensuring a positive and informative experience for the reader.
- Regularly update and maintain sales files and records within internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure data integrity and assist in tracking sales activities, proposal statuses, and client interactions.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of power systems, including current industry trends, technologies, and regulatory standards, to ensure proposals are both innovative and feasible.
